Description
Learning the names of the various note positions on the neck will enable you to easily communicate with other musicians and is a step towards your being able to play the correct notes from written music.
This workbook addresses only the first few positions on the neck for each of the four violin strings. It is limited to just those positions and their associated note names so as to correspond to the learning challenge faced by new violin students.
I have found that once these positions have become familiar territory, students typically advance more quickly in learning new positions and notes.
This workbook is specifically designed to supplement the usual presentation in a beginner violin method book. It accomplishes this by using of several imaginative procedures which both engage and instruct the student.
I routinely use this workbook and its companion “Violin Exercise Sequence For Improved Right Hand and Left Hand Coordination” from the start with my new violin students. I have found that so doing handles the needs of fret identification and string pressing quite efficiently and in short order.
