Early Fret/Note Identification Exercises for Guitar

$5.00

The exercises in this workbook were written to help the beginning guitar player speed up the learning of the fret names for the first few frets on the neck for each of the six guitar strings.

It is specifically designed to supplement the usual presentation in a beginner guitar method book.

I have used it for years with consistent success with my new guitar students.

Description

Learning the names of the various frets on the neck will enable you to easily communicate with other musicians and is a step towards your being able to play the correct notes from written music.

This workbook addresses only the first few frets on the neck for each of the six guitar strings.  It is limited to just those frets and their associated note names so as to correspond to the learning challenge faced by new guitar students. I have found that once these frets have become familiar territory, students typically advance more quickly in learning new frets and notes.

This workbook is specifically designed to supplement the usual presentation in a beginner guitar method book.  It accomplishes this by using of several imaginative procedures which both engage and instruct the student.

I routinely use this workbook and its companion “Guitar Exercise Sequence For Improved Right Hand and Left Hand Coordination” from the start with my new guitar students.  I have found that so doing handles the needs of fret identification and string pressing quite efficiently and in short order.
